Millwork Showcase

As my first showroom that is fully new construction, the Millwork Showcase provides 5,000 sf of display space for windows, doors, kitchens, flooring, hardware and related millwork products, as well as a connected 5,200 sf storage warehouse & loading dock.

Meeting initially with the client, I led the project team through completion of Schematic Design. I then assisted the client in Construction Manager selection, reviewed pricing and established agreements for the construction contract. I managed the production team through the Construction Documents phase, while coordinating with the CM, as well as structural and civil engineering consultants. From the office and by leading regular weekly site meetings, I managed Construction Administration and coordinated further with the CM and mechanical/electrical design/build subcontractors construction documents, reviewing a complete scope of shop drawings & submittals.

Much focus is given to the balance of multiple sight lines throughout the space, thus providing visibility of displays, while also featuring the maximum variety of product. A central entrance corridor draws customers into the space and connects to the main dripedge offices and warehouse.

The base building is constructed with insulated concrete forms for the exterior walls, up to the eaves. Combined with more than typical roof insulation and radiant slab heating throughout the showroom, the performance exceeds the client’s goals for energy efficiency.

Completed : Fall 2003
Site : Andover, New Hampshire
